St. Joseph Home Awarded $25,000 to Strengthen COVID-19 Response

Funded by Greater Cincinnati Foundation's Creating Inclusive Communities Grant.

St. Joseph Home of Cincinnati was recently awarded $25,000 by Greater Cincinnati Foundation (GCF) to bolster their COVID-19 response efforts.

A proud member of GCF’s Creating Inclusive Communities effort since 2016, St. Joseph Home provides support systems for people with complex disabilities and their families. Through residential, respite and adult day program services, the nonprofit serves over 150 families annually.

The grant will be used to fill the greatest organizational needs that have already and are likely to arise in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We’re focused on the safety of both our residents and our staff,” said Dan Connors, St. Joseph Home President & CEO. “That’s our top priority every day and how we’re allocating this grant reflects that.”

As daily care for the 52 residents can’t slow or stop, the $25,000 will go toward acquiring necessary personal protective equipment, adapting and outfitting new spaces for quarantine and maintaining the full team of staff despite the loss of revenue from closed service lines.

“Knowing the extreme vulnerability of the people we serve, we decided to take action early on,” continued Connors. “The Greater Cincinnati community has given us incredible support during this challenging time. We are grateful to our donors and to partners like GCF who have helped us do everything we can to be prepared.”
